Switching Gears and Turning Pages
This post is one that has been a long time coming but I think that I am in need of a major change in my life and how I relate to my photography passion.
First I want to thank all of my past clients, my friends and my family for their amazing support over the last 13 years of my professional photography career. This has been an amazing journey where I have met so many wonderful people and spent the happiest day with so many unforgettable couples. Many of whom I now count as my friends.
Going forward into 2016 and 2017 however I am going to be switching gears and making some changes to how I run my business and practice my art.
Starting immediately I will no longer be accepting any new clients for 2016 or 2017 for weddings or any other paid work.
All existing contracts will be honoured as they stand and I look forward to celebrating with all of the clients I have already booked.
To the fans of my work don’t worry I will not be putting my camera away in mothballs. Starting this year I want to concentrate more on creating art and less on running a business. I will still photograph some very select weddings. Weddings that truly speak to my soul and fill a creative void. Over the years I have photographed many fairytale weddings but now I want to concentrate more on the atypical fairytale, the one that is completely off the wall. Weddings that I choose to take on will be selected very carefully and it will be less about the business of wedding photography and more about the art of capturing images that are beyond compare for a couple that compares to none. In addition to these very select weddings (no more than 2-3 per year) I will be concentrating on creating magical landscapes to photograph fantasy creatures and models both in my studio and in outdoor sets as well as spending more time in nature photographing the world around us and the magic that exists under our feet that we so readily take for granted.
So once again, I want to thank everyone who has supported me this far and I hope that you will enjoy what is coming up in the next chapter in this storybook that is my life and my art.
