Hightlights of Hal-Con 2013

Another year of Hal-Con has come to a close.  While it unfortunately cannot be said that a good time was had by all, Ken and I had a wonderful time. We were once again Warp Speed pass holders and they were worth their weight in GOLD especially due to the capacity issues that were experienced. I know that the organizers will take all of the lessons that they learned from the issues this year to make the next year bigger and better then ever. We will definitely be the 1st ones in line to get our Warp Speed passes for 2014.

Some of the highlights of my experience were getting to meet Garrett Wang (Star Trek), Peter Davidson (Dr. Who), Jewel Staite (Firefly & Stargate), David Nickle (Stargate) Ya Ya Han (Professional Cosplayer) & J. August Richards (Angel & Agents of Shield pilot). The Star Gazer Soiree, a small cocktail party for the warp speed pass holders, Hal-Con staff and special guests where everyone stands around and chats for a couple of hours over appetizers and drinks, is always one of my favorite parts of the weekend. I was able to get to chat with and have my picture taken with so many awesome people. Following the Soiree Ken and I had the privilege of spending some time out at Boston Pizza with AJ Fry from Inner Space as he taught us how to play Werewolf with some other new Hal-Con friends.

On Sunday I also had the wonderful opportunity to photograph some wonderful cosplayers, all of which were super awesome about coming out in the cold and wet.

The thing I love the most about Hal-Con isn’t getting to meet celebrities, attending supper cool panels, or buying amazing swag in the vendors room (while all that is super cool), it is the amazing friends that I have had the opportunity to meet and become close with each year.

Thank you again to the wonderful organizers, volunteers and everyone else who worked on making Hal-Con everything that it was.

Here are a few photos that helped to capture the weekend.
