Model Monthly April – Josh

Josh is yet another model that I met through NWH modeling here in Saint John. Though he no longer attends the modeling class he does come back for events and shows on occasion. Josh is a student at UNBSJ and took some time out of his busy exam schedule to meet with me for a few photos.

How long have you been modeling?
I started modelling when I was 15. I actually didn’t want to model my whole life but I started to become very interested in fashion and that opened my eyes to this wonderful world of modelling.

What do you like most about modeling?
It’s hard to say my favourite thing about modelling. I think it would probably be the little boost of confidence I get every time I do a runway show or a photo shoot. I always leave feeling really good about myself and it’s a lot of fun!
Do you prefer runway or photo modeling?
I prefer photo modelling. During runway shows everything is so rushed and there isn’t a lot of time to get to know the people watching you or even the people in the show. During photo shoots I really enjoy getting to know the photographer and other models and just having a good time with them.
What are your aspirations for the future?

I’m not sure where my life is going to take me just yet but I do know that I never want to stop modelling (seriously, I’ll be doing this when I’m 80).
I just completed my first year of Arts at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John and it was an experience. Next year I plan on moving on to something else. Most likely something to do with Interior Decorating, which is what I really love to do.

Josh was also involved in my photo series that I completed last summer entitled A Zombie Lovestory.  He played the part of one of the groomsmen in the bridal party that had to be dug up from the grave to participate in the wedding. He was a great sport and laid down on an actual grave and allowed me to cover him with dirt.  He is an a great model to work with and I hope to work with him many times in the future.
